Bilingual Speech Therapy of Clearwater (BSTC) is a boutique-style speech and language and occupational private practice located in the heart of Clearwater, Florida. We see all ages from toddlers to adults. Our practice values success and tailors therapy to improve the quality of our patient’s lives. With more than 15 years of experience and a well-connected practice, BSTC fosters relationships with physicians, therapists and other allied health experts. Our practice has deep rooted experience and a broad based knowledge spanning a variety of disciplines. We offer speech, language and occupational therapy services in both English and Spanish.

Raquel Fuentes-Zapata MS, CCC-SLP

Raquel received her Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University. Raquel is a nationally certified speech-language pathologist, trained to evaluate and treat clients of all ages. With more than 15 years of experience, Raquel has worked with a wide array of medical, cognitive, speech-language and swallowing disorders at a number of public schools, sub-acute/rehabilitation clinics and private practice for both adults and children of all ages. She now has the privilege of serving clients right from her own practice. Raquel loves to cook, travel and salsa dance!

Kari Rasmussen OTD, OTR/L

Kari was born and raised in the Tampa Florida area and finally moved back after 3 long years. She got her doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Nova Southeastern University Tampa. She is a mother of a little boy and a little girl that along with her wonderful husband, are her world. Kari has a passion for working with kids, maternity care and the mother-infant dyad. Kari is a certified educator of infant massage and have experience in the home health setting working with a wide range of disabilities and ages from new NICU graduates to young adults. Kari loves spending time around the water and anything Disney!

Kayla Cortiza SLP-A

Kayla discovered her love for Speech Pathology in high school while volunteering at the preschool she once attended. Shortly after graduating, she became licensed in early childhood education through the Department of Children and Families and became a preschool teacher. Kayla holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Relations and a Graduate Certificate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida International University. Kayla is a state certified speech- language pathologist assistant. She is most experienced in pediatric speech therapy with an interest in autism spectrum disorder. As she continues to pursue her graduate studies, Kayla hopes to gain more knowledge and experience with head injury and stroke patients. In her free time, Kayla enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, reading about different cultures, countries and their history, and learning languages.

Maria Sandoval

Maria Sandoval is our office manager assistant. Maria is currently attending the University of South Florida where she is studying Communication Sciences and Disorders. Her primary goal is to become a Speech-Language Pathologist of the highest levels. Maria loves to travel, flight air planes and dance. She is a fantastic help in the day-to-day requirements of maintaining our clients calendars and documentation. Maria takes pride in hyper-efficiency and smiles!

Ariadne Pantoja

Ariadne Pantoja is our office assistant. She was born and raised in Georgia. Ariadne is currently attending Hillsborough Community College(HCC) with the goal of becoming a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer. In her spare time she likes to sit in a brightly lit room and read for hours. She loves making people smile and laugh in hopes of bringing more light into their lives.
